Season of Crimson Blossoms

In conservative, mainly Muslim Northern Nigeria, Binta Zubairu, a 55-year-old widow, begins an affair with Hassan ‘Reza’, a 26-year-old political thug who deals in weed. Binta, who had been making her peace with God, longs to escape the repression of her marriage and the loneliness of widowhood, and still grieves the tragic death of her first son. As gossip spreads, Binta faces condemnation and isolation, and a clash between Reza and her wealthy son ends in disaster. A pre-loved copy of Abubakar Adam Ibrahim's prize-winning novel.
