Delivery, insurance and returns

Delivery

• Collect in Jos. Usually ready to collect within 1 to 2 working days. Free.
• Delivery by Konga (KXpress). Usually 4 to 7 working days to most of Nigeria; usually 2 to 4 working days to Plateau, Nasarawa, Bauchi, Kaduna, Benue, Abuja. The price depends on your area and the weight of your books, and is shown at checkout before you pay.
• Delivery in Nigeria. We will confirm the timing when we agree delivery.

Times are counted in working days (Monday to Friday, not public holidays) from when your payment clears. Books we order in for you take longer; your quote gives the expected arrival.

Please give a correct address and a phone number you will answer. If the courier cannot deliver because the address is wrong or nobody answers, the courier still charges us and the parcel comes back to Jos. We will then refund your books but not the delivery charge, or send them again for a new delivery charge.

Parcel insurance

• Included with every Konga delivery: Konga's basic cover. If your parcel is lost or damaged in transit, compensation is up to ₦15,000, at no extra cost.
• Full-value insurance on orders of ₦15,000 or more: included in the delivery charge, so your parcel is insured for the full value of your books. Konga charges ₦2,000 for this (1.5% of the value for orders above ₦100,000); the delivery price shown at checkout already includes it.
• With full-value insurance, if your parcel is lost or damaged in transit, we claim from Konga and replace your books or refund them in full.
• Your receipt shows which cover your order has.
• Insurance covers loss or damage while the parcel is with the courier. It does not cover delays, or anything after the parcel is delivered to the address you gave.
• To claim, tell us within 24 hours of delivery, with photos of the parcel and books. If your parcel has not arrived by the end of the delivery time, please contact us straight away. We handle the claim with Konga under Konga's terms.

Returns: our 24-hour policy

You have 24 hours from when you receive or collect your order to tell us about a problem or to ask to return a book. Send your order reference on WhatsApp or to store@coalng.org, with a photo if the book is damaged.

• Damaged, faulty or wrong book (for example missing or misprinted pages, or not the book you ordered): we replace it, or refund it in full, and cover the cost of sending the replacement. Please keep the book and its packaging until we have sorted it out.
• Changed your mind: we accept an unused book in the condition you received it. You return it to us in Jos, at your cost, and we refund the price of the book once it reaches us, less the card payment charge, which the payment provider does not return to us. The delivery charge is not refunded.
• Not returnable: e-books once sent, gift cards, and books we ordered in specially for you, unless they arrive damaged, faulty or wrong. Thrift copies are second-hand and sold as described; a wrong copy, or damage we did not describe, is covered as above.
• Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with. We aim to send a refund within 5 working days of agreeing it; your bank may take a few more days to show it.

After 24 hours we can no longer accept a return, but please still tell us about any problem and we will do our best to help.
